A request was made for the contract the Association has with Associa, our management company, and for certain billing statements from Associa.

The issue concerns the legitimacy of the request and whether the Association has to honor it. Of less concern, but nonetheless worrying, is the lack of acknowledgment of receipt of the request by the Association managing agent, the Board or the Board president when the request was first presented.

The asking, and the requirement for providing, is well within the statutoraly required documents in §5200. Most particularly, the giving of the contract is required by §5200(a)(4), as an Association Record, and the giving of billing is required by §5200(b), as an Enhanced Association Record.

The Board works for its members in their best interest. In this, the members have a right to oversight of all non-privileged contracts and billings, check, and etc.
